An overview of the some more difficult issues with real estate that arise in marital dissolution actions, with commentary and real-life examples provided by our experienced and practicing speakers. The topics discussed will include but not be limited to: the significance of title issues for marital property, conversions of real property during marriage, issues arising out of usage of separate property funds, real property owned before marriage, reimbursement rights for separate property, gifts from family members to the purchase price, third parties on mortgages and title, and the sale of real property incident to divorce. This program will be helpful and will include new content for both family law attorneys and real estate attorneys. Make sure you know the pitfalls to avoid, and how to plan to maximize the outcome of division of real property issues in dissolution of marriage proceedings.

- David J. Glass, CFLS, PhD
David is one of a few, select attorneys who is dually-trained in Law and Clinical Psychology (PhD). His background as a therapist allows him to offer his clients an “inside look” at and understanding of the procedures employed by court-appointed mental health and psychological professionals in high-stakes custody litigation. Glass has been certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization as a Family Law Specialist – a distinction held by less than 4% of family law practitioners statewide. Glass’ practice encompasses the full range of family law and probate litigation matters, and includes the negotiation and drafting of Prenuptial Agreements. He is also especially adept at working with the management teams for his high-net-worth clients. David is a Shareholder of Enenstein Ribakoff LaViña & Pham. He has practiced exclusively in family law and probate litigation for 18 years.
- Peter R. Fischer, Esq
Peter specializes in complex real estate and corporate transactions, and also maintains a diverse entertainment and intellectual property practice. His clientele includes a broad spectrum of developers, operators, financial institutions, domestic and multi-national companies and individual investors. He also serves as outside counsel for numerous middle-market and startup companies, as well as several real estate developers and funds. Before joining Enenstein Ribakoff LaViña & Pham as a shareholder, Peter was an attorney with Loeb & Loeb in that firm’s transactional entertainment group, and prior to that, with both Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton and Latham & Watkins, specializing in corporate and bank financings. Peter is the Program Chair for the BHBA Real Estate Section.
